Cherry jam spread is the perfect compliment to Belletoile cheese for your holiday party charcuterie board. It can also be a homemade gift for a friend paired with a wedge of Belletoile and your favorite holiday wine. All you need are a few ingredients:
Recipe:
2 pounds fresh or frozen cherries, pitted and coarsely chopped
3/4 cup sugar
2 Tablespoons lemon juice
Place a saucer or small plate in the freezer. This will be used to test the jam consistency later.
Combine cherries, sugar, and lemon juice in a large saucepan over high heat and bring to a boil, stirring until sugar is dissolved. Reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer, stirring frequently, for 20 minutes, then remove from the heat.The jam will still be a bit thin, but should coat a spoon.
To test for completion, place a small amount of jam on the plate from the freezer.
Touch the jam with a spoon or your finger. If it wrinkles, it’s ready to be enjoyed. If not, simmer for another 5 minutes and repeat.
Transfer the jam to a glass jar and cool completely. Seal and store in the refrigerator.
